An internationally acclaimed singer-songwriter Kellylee Evans was at the height of her career when in 2013, a lightning strike changed everything. This was the first in a series of life-altering health challenges that would keep her off-stage for years. In the process of finding her way back, Evans learned that resilience isn’t simply about enduring what happens to us. It’s about how we choose to live, listen, connect, love, and envision what comes next. Combining story and song, her powerful keynote concerts equip audiences with practical tools for living fully through change, no matter what uncertainty they’re facing.
Evans is described as a high-octane, chameleon-like performer whose natural charm and improvisational style move fluidly between jazz, soul, pop, and hip-hop. She won a 2011 Juno Award for Vocal Jazz Album of the Year for Nina and earned a second Juno nomination in 2018 for her album Come On. She has also toured extensively around the world, opening for such artists as John Legend, Tony Bennett, George Benson, Erykah Badu, and Willie Nelson.
In recognition of her work, Evans was the grand prize recipient at the third annual Her Music Awards in 2023. Hosted by The Socan Foundation, it celebrates and supports female-identifying Canadian music creators on the verge of taking their creative careers to the next level. She’s also been honoured with an Honorary Doctor of Music by Carleton University.
Drawing from her remarkable life and career, Evans invites audiences to consider a different question when life doesn’t go according to plan: What is still possible? Warm, funny and deeply human, she leaves audiences with practical ways to trust themselves, cultivate possibility, and build a life they don’t want to keep postponing.
