Chris Bailey is a leading voice on productivity, attention, and intentional work. Across four bestselling books, four TEDx Talks, and more than a decade of research, he’s found that performance — whether personal or organizational — has less to do with managing our time than with managing our attention, energy, and what we value. Bailey brings these findings to life on stage, combining his infectious enthusiasm with science-backed strategies to transform how audiences focus, sustain motivation, and find purpose in their work.

Bailey first made a name for himself by doing what most people only talk about. After graduating from Carleton University’s Sprott School of Business, he turned down two full-time job offers to spend a year running productivity experiments on himself — from working 90-hour weeks to using his phone an hour a day and meditating for 35 hours, from gaining 10 pounds of muscle to living in total isolation. He documented the whole process publicly, and it caught fire.

Bailey’s four books have sold nearly one million copies and been published in more than 40 languages. The Productivity Project documents his original yearlong experiment, while Hyperfocus deep dives into the science of paying attention. How to Calm Your Mind looks at burnout and overstimulation and Intentional, published in 2026, explores the fascinating science of our values and how they drive us to finish what we start.

On stage, Bailey is known for his fun, deeply customized keynotes that are grounded in science without feeling dry or academic. He works directly with clients to discover what will uniquely serve their audience, tailoring his talks with specific research-backed tactics and stories to shift how they think about productivity and performance and leave them with strategies they can implement immediately. His keynotes and workshops have been delivered to audiences around the world, with his TEDx Talk on focus viewed more than 20 million times and his latest TEDx Talk on values and motivation chosen as a TED Editor’s Pick. His work has also been featured in The New York Times, Harvard Business Review, Fortune, the BBC, and many others.

Bailey is also the co-host of Intentional AI, a podcast about using AI in practical, human-centered ways. When he’s not researching, writing, recording, or on stage, he’s probably running an experiment on himself — he hasn’t been able to stop since that first year.

  • We chose Chris as he operates in that unique space between productivity and wellness which was very important to us as we wanted to engage those that may be traditionally put off by pure wellness initiatives. Chris’ presentation was engaging, professionally delivered and most importantly, incredibly practical. If you are looking for a speaker who will have a real impact on the way you work, I highly recommend Chris for your company as well.

  • Chris delivered a fantastic presentation to our organization on the topic of intentionality, energy, attention, and prioritization, as it pertains to productivity and work-life satisfaction. His strategies were succinct and easy to consume by our colleagues. He encouraged us to “take what works, and leave the rest”.

His approach was so well balanced between presenting research findings surrounding productivity and engaging/interacting with the attendees.

Chris’s presentation has been the “spark that ignites the fire” of positive change in our organization. Thank you Chris!

  • The return on investment from Chris’ workshop just two short months ago is unquestionably massive, and continues to grow. After the event, I received appreciative feedback from everyone in attendance, from new engineers, to industry-renowned experts with 40+ years of experience. One executive vice-president at my company even went so far as to say that the workshop “changed his life.” Chris’ ideas on how to work with deliberateness and intention have grown to become a part of our everyday conversations. Simply put, we’re accomplishing more and are happier doing it.

  • With the always increasing demands placed on us at work, being productive is hugely important in order to succeed in the workplace and have enough time for our personal interests. Chris presents an elegant framework on managing time, attention and energy in order to increase output and create more personal time. Presenting his research and personal experiments with humour, Chris brings life to a sometimes stuffy topic. Friends and family have noticed my increase in productivity, labelling me, “Mr. Efficiency”. Mr E. thanks you, Chris!

  • We invited Chris to give a 40-minute presentation on productivity for our university’s general assembly with 1,500-2,000 students, faculty, and staff. • With his easy going humour and practical wisdom, Chris had our audience hanging on his every word. His message is applicable to all stages of life and career, and I had positive comments from students, alumni and faculty for weeks following his talk. His take home notes hang in my office, reminding me every day that I have the tools for a productive, manageable workflow at my disposal. I would welcome the opportunity to hear Chris speak again!

  • Chris was fantastic! We had a really great staff response after the event. I really appreciated how he framed productivity, gave advice that could be individualized, and answered staff questions. He really seemed to have looked into our organization and brought what we spoke about in our prep call to the actual talk.

  • Chris Bailey was a fantastic mix of funny, quirky — eminently watchable — delivery with an obvious grounding in evidence-based science. He was just remarkable! Our leaders immediately began using his Rule of Three lesson to prioritize their weeks/months/years. Many have also shifted their cell phone screens to grayscale to knock down the distraction they’ve experienced from fully saturated screen images. I wish we would have found him years ago; these lessons are the basic building blocks of productivity that no one gives to leaders, but every leader needs!
