La historia empresarial del matrimonio entre Farah y Main Perelmuter comenzó en 1995 cuando el tio de ella, un reconocido conferenciante, le pidió que le ayudara a preparar el material para una de sus ponencias.
Tanto mi marido Martin como yo nos dimos cuenta que el mundo de los conferenciantes tenia mucho que explotar. Faitaban empresas que planificaran las ponencias y ofrecieran un amptio abanico de expertos en dlferentes materias" recuerda Ja fundadora de Speakers Spotlight.
Muchos ingresos
La pareja decidió dejar sus respectivos trabajos en una agencia publicitaria y en un despacho de abogados para crear su start up. "comenzamos en casa con un ordenador y un fax. Martin era el mensajero y yo, gracias a mis contactos en el mundo de la publicidad, empece a dar a conocer la empresa". Una de las estrategias que siguieron fue la del diserlo de una web de facil manejo y can una seleceión de conferenciantes de prestigio. A dia de hoy, esta web recibe 2 millones de visitas mensuales de potenciales clientes de todo el mundo. Pero ¿qué es de verdad 10 que les hace diferentes? "Somos muy selectivos a la hora de incorporar un conferenciante a nuestra plantilla. De Ias 1.000 solicitudes que recibimos cada ano, sólo nos quedamos con un 1%. Además, hemos desarrollado un sistema que nos permite asegurar que el conferenciante que ofrecemos es et adecuado para el evento en cuestión". Entre su elenco de oradores, el primer ministro canadiense Joe Clark y la activista medioambiental Erin Brockovich. En 2005, Speakers Spotlight ganó 8 millones de dólares canadienses y, en 2006, más de 10 millones, Por si esto fuera poco, Perelmuter está en la lista de Canada's Top 100 Women Business Owerns y la empresa ha sido catalogada como una de las de mayor crecimiento.
Solidaridad con los niflos de Africa
Parts de las ganancias que Speakers Spotlight obtiene can so retórica se destina a la organización benéfica Free The Children, que ayuda a los niños de la región de Masai Mara, en Kenya. Cada vez que alguien contrate a uno de sus conferenclantes, estos emprendedores donan 130 euros a ese organización benéfice.
