TOPICS

1. Why Usually Honest People Steal And How To Deal With Them

Dr. Cupchik has presented on this topic on a great many occasions – at professional conferences here and in the USA, including: (i) the American College Of Forensic Examiners at their Annual Conference in San Diego; (ii) professional and business groups such as the Retail Council of Canada’s Loss Prevention Group – Toronto Section and (iii) to lay persons, such as the Ulysessian Society.

Dr. Cupchik believes that many retailers’ loss prevention, sales management and other personnel would profit from my talk in this area, especially as a pervasive misunderstanding of the variety of theft offenders on occasion can – and has – led to a financial waste of company resources, lawsuits having been filed, and unavoidable tragedies such as the deaths/suicides of shoplifters. None of these occurrences can be good for business!

2. Games People In Organizations Play And How To Identify And Stop Them

Psychological game playing is often pervasive in organizations. Learning to recognize, deal with, and preferably avoid these games (that are usually carried out without the conscious awareness of those who get involved in them) can vastly improve the corporate atmosphere, the psychological well-being of those who otherwise get entrapped in them, their customer relationships and the organization’s financial bottom line.

Dr. Cupchik has assisted corporate board members, CEOs and Executive Directors, managers and line personnel to improve their business and personal communications and lower their stress levels, all the while improving their organizations’ functioning.

3. Effective Stress Management And Improved Heart Health For Managers And Senior Executives

Using more than a dash of humour and real-life examples, this presentation informs the audience about key matters that can dangerously increase psychological stress, including chronic ‘time urgency’, and several ways to counter these same factors by employing techniques that take just a few minutes a day. Using a variety of exercises that can be done at their seats, members of the audience will have an opportunity to sample the observable effects of even very brief stress managing interventions.

By improving self-awareness of their state of stress, attendees are encouraged to empower themselves in the service of doing stress-reducing techniques that are not only beneficial for their own health, but that may positively influence their coworkers as well, thereby increasing their workplace atmosphere and effectiveness.
